Hmm. This is a weird book.

The first story struck me as super creepy…maybe it’s just me. Or maybe because I’m pregnant, but I was expecting something so ghoulish. 🤪

Listening to the dramatization on Audible for AO Year 1C. We did Little Pilgrim’s Progress for our first two years.

I’m glad I saw other reviewers saying that it was a drudge until they got past the halfway point, because otherwise I might have given up too soon. Now that I’m almost 2/3 in, I care what happens to the characters and it isn’t so hard to start listening again. Except for Uriah. Bleh. And Trotwood’s crushes. Ugh. But so far it is all redeemed by the two Betsy Trotwoods. And the donkeys.

I have laughed out loud in several spots already! I have definitely been drawn into this one faster than the first one. I had to read the part about Uncle Archibald’s Catholic practices out loud to my husband.
