I don’t doubt that the guy is homophobic, but following your description of a Russian player not showing public support for LGBT causes with the factoid that showing that support is punishable by prison time where he and his family presumably live does add some context that weakens this argument in particular.

Did not like the intro section of Browne discussing his thoughts on delaying his transition to stay in women’s sports - obviously a nuanced issue but with recent events in trans athletes (trans men playing on women’s teams as a #inclusive win but they ban all trans women and don’t allow these guys to actually transition) it rubbed me the wrong way
