This is yet another book keeping me up reading at night. I can’t put it down

Love the world building and the writing style. It’s so immersive, but also easy to read and follow.

I think I’m gonna DNF this. I feel like I’m forcing myself through it and there are better books I’d prefer to read in my spare time..

I like it so far.

Actually struggling with this. Is there anyone that strongly recommends that I should keep going with it? Is it worth it?

Alright, this is super interesting and full of twists and turns I wasn’t expecting.

Taking a mini break from romantasy for a brief second

I’m so annoyed because this story is good, (there’s much more plot to it than in the first book), and I love the banter. The best thing about this book are the dialogue and Blake. He’s giving major Damon Salvatore vibes. But I also hate the writing, but I also can’t put it down and it’s nearly 2am. So, like, I love it but I also hate it and so I’m annoyed.

Man I’m so conflicted about this book. The story is good and I want to keep going and see what happens, but the writing… it’s so YA and there’s so much telling, it’s frustrating me. This could easily be 5 stars if the writing was better.

Even though I was really annoyed with how the first book ended I decided to give this one a go. Took me a little bit to remember the story (even though it’s only been a month since I finished the first book, but I’m saturating myself with romantasy, and it’s all starting to look the same…) but now I’m invested.

I feel like I’ve over saturated myself with romantasy and I’ve hit a reading slump. The only book I have interest in still reading in this kind of genre is Queen of Shadows and with everything else I’m leaning towards DNFing, and I’m wondering about maybe switching genres for a bit. Maybe I should go back to reading classics or go into thrillers..

Idk I’m still not really feeling it. Just feels like everyone’s split up on different tasks, Saeris is annoying and for someone who didn’t want to be queen she loves to say “I am the queen” and “this is my court” and she’s very quick to be aggressive. The relationship between Kingfisher and Saeris doesn’t feel like a relationship, it just feels like sexual chemistry and there’s no depth to them..

Idk… it started off well and interesting and now the pace has slowed down and Saeris is annoying me and I’m wondering if it’s worth pushing through. I read few non spoiler reviews and it sounds like it might be worth pushing through for the ending? Like it might pick up the pace? I’ll give it to 50% before I decide if I’ll keep going or not.

Okay now this is one book I struggle to put down. I have to physically tell myself I have to close my kindle and go to sleep otherwise I’ll end up staying up all night reading it, and I only get about half an hour to read it each night. It’s just not enough time to read! And at the same time I’m enjoying the slower reading pace so I can savour the story more.

I’m gonna give myself the goal of finishing this in the next two days. I like the book overall, but it’s time to move on to something else.

I might DNF for now.. I’m still interested in the story and the characters, but the writing style, despite being beautiful and lyrical, it is so heavy, it’s difficult to follow. I don’t think I’m in the mental space for this book at the moment and I’m usually way too tired to give it the attention it deserves. I need something that will keep my attention through my tiredness..

Neeeed to finish this today cos it’ll get automatically returned to the library tomorrow and I can’t put it on hold and then wait weeks to get through the last quarter of it. It’s so good. I love this book.

That was completely unexpected and so satisfying to read

I’m really liking the depth of all of the characters. They all feel like they’re real people that the author wrote into the book.
