Okay 12% in and now it’s getting interesting.

This book started off a bit slow for me, but man has it picked up now. I already know I’m gonna have to reread it to pick up on details I’m missing this time around. Also the writing style is a breath of fresh air. I love it.

Interesting, but not that much is happening yet.

The writing style of this book annoys me so much and the only character I actually like is Blake but also why can I not stop reading it??? Already putting The Night Prince on hold at the library

This book is so repetitive, I’m starting to wonder if I just leave it. It’s constant repetition of events so far, of some background story, phrases, descriptions. I’m rolling my eyes every time I read yet another “his big hand” and “his large muscles” and about heat pooling in various body parts and how everything seems so inappropriate to this delicate flower of a princess. I’m this close to DNFing

Easy read but I’m getting annoyed. There’s heaps of repetition. The FMC is almost too naive and delicate. I’d expect to see a bit more depth to her by now. And I get it the MMC is large, no need to mention it 100x. Also the names are just too generic for a fantasy book. She’s Aurora. That’s interesting. And he’s…Callum? And James and Blake? These are wolf shifters. Surely they deserved more unique names

Re-reading this series in preparation for the release of the new books, but this time I’m doing it on audio

This has been catching my eye everywhere, and the library wait list was super long, so I thought it’d be ages before I would read it. But now the library offered the E-book for a short 2 week loan, so it kind of skipped the queue right to the top of my TBR.
It’s definitely pulled me in already. Let’s hope it remains good

This is captivating from the first paragraph. I like it so far.

Very lyrical writing. I’m into it, though I find I can’t read it when I’m tired otherwise I can’t follow what’s happening. And considering I’m always tired… 😔 maybe my solution to getting the most out of this story will be to read this in the mornings rather than evenings.

The first two short stories, The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber and The Capital of the World are tragic and at the same time, beautifully written. The settings, limited characters and themes in these stories are really well done, while keeping the overall story short. How can someone write such impactful pieces of work without them being full length novels? 👏

Not really into it as much, and tempted to DNF, but I don’t like DNFing, so I’m trying to get through it quickly and move on to reading something else.

Haven’t had as much time to make a lot of progress through this book over the past few days, but that last chapter made me feel sad. This whole story is so far sad, but also really well written.

So I’ve read the first story in the first volume, The Raid, and I really liked it. It seems like a very fitting story to read at this point in time considering all that’s happening around the world and it left me deep in thought, also wondering what makes someone brave and what makes someone a coward.

Not a big fan of Peggy, but I’m liking the story. The writing is beautiful.

Yay we have finally moved past the self pitying/self hating stage (I think… I hope?) and the book is becoming more interesting as there’s actual new stuff happening now
