Had to skip the prologue. It was long, and I just wanted the characters I missed! I loveee Bryce and Hunt and Crescent City so much more after switching back to the Throne of Glads series. This series is just more rich and developed.

Struggling with the first little bit. I can’t get into the dialogue. I feel the use of Spanish is unnatural and unnecessary. Just finished a small section without the father character, and it was much better to read.

25 pages in it feels like the trope has been too obviously set up. And I don’t like nicknames in books, so I know “Wardass” is going to be rough. I suspect some of these references would feel more satisfying to someone who works in this field which I respect. Still overall liking it.
