I think I hate this book and, yet, I’m going to see it through.

The narration in this is so boring. It literally makes me tired to read this. I'm giving myself permission to abandon ship! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

Snoozey.

I never to this, but I'm going to abandon Rumo. It's driving me crazy. The story's within the story's are maddening and endless. The plot is interesting, but so multi-faceted at this point that I've already forgotten threads that I know are important. Mostly though, this book has consumed my time for too long. I'll file this under the "maybe I'll return to this when I retire" category.

So funny and clever, yet so tedious. There are asides within the asides…still, super enjoyable. Moving very slowly on this one…

I hadn’t planned on reading On the Road this year, but couldn’t pass up the chance to have a mini book club with Spencer, who is reading it for the first time. I feel happy and old at the same time.

I just wanted to see what percentage this would be.

Wise Man’s Fear is a tour du force. I think with about 75-100 pages of background this could function as a separate book from TNOTW. I love the fact that there are so many stories told within the story itself. In retrospect, I wish I’d taken a break between book 1 and 2. I’m in deep though and am preparing myself for the super awkward Felurian section that looms ahead!

I read this almost exactly ten years ago and, so far, I have to say it’s even better than I remembered. Phenomenal storytelling with an imperfect, yet heroically talented main protagonist/narrator. Truly a joy to read.
