So it take for the love interest to tell her to make up with her family, for her to actually make up with her family. But now Gus is a raging alcoholic, Joe won’t help bandage someone up although he’s a DOCTOR of all things, and Bean and Krista had a verbal fight which lasted maybe 3 minutes max before things were normal again. God give me strength..

What is happening. Sophie is just blazing past key things that are happening in the plot like they’re nothing at all. Bean is pregnant but has only been with this dude for a couple weeks.. seems legit. And now we’ve gone racing past the fact Gus has broken up with his long term girlfriend, almost like it was nothing unusual for a Tuesday afternoon. Also fuck Joe he has no depth. Awful character along with Effie!

I’m trying to hold on hope that this book cannot get any worse than the beginning. Just when I thought Effie was going to finally attend the party and sneak around that way, she decides to hide under the family table!! She also meets a young boy who knows her name, but instead of telling his mum about her name, just says she’s a ghost. I’m lost for words really.

Effie is absolutely insufferable. I can not stand her character or how up her own backside she is. The plot so far is totally pointless, and is only riding on her hatred for her family - who have done nothing wrong so far. Sophie keeps bringing up Joe and how he is now “famous” but for what?? There is no explanation whatsoever!!
