Worried about it being instalove. The chapters individually are great however. But that was the case with her other series as well. The pining and all was great when malini and priya were apart but when they were together in book 3 it was a bit insufferable. Anyway i seem to enjoy Vina's chapters a lot more. Can't help comparing this to Harrow's knight book which also had fate and love transcending time etc etc...

This is really showing how the idolification and saintification of regular human beings is so damn dangerous. Especially for someone thrust in the spotlight at such a young age due to something so traumatic.
It's also really interesting how Malala has this feeling of responsibilty to fix the world just because she survived an assasination attempt. As if she owes something to the world for not dying

my heart is dead and cold because i do not feel a thing for this book, it worked better as a short story and should have stayed that way

Some thoughts: the romance seems unnecessary so far at least I don't feel anything for it. The plot is a bit confusing in the sense that I don't really understand the villain's motives?? Like what is the end goal supposed to be? How does she keep her memories everytime? It doesn't seem like its a closed time loop. Multiple worldlines?
It is very angry and anti facism etc etc but idk the plot is lacking so far

life has been A LOT lately and i went into this book a skeptic since pop scifi is always a hit or miss, but i see the appeal of this. Still think Children of Time remains superior

I'm so happy i am enjoying reading again after so long. This is really good so far. Some passages i read and it blows my mind that a 19 year old wrote this more than 200 years ago and it still manages to move something in me

i feel like if this book came out in the current political climate it would be considered very controversial. Interesting how they are anarchists, yet they believe justice can be achieved through peaceful protest

i think i like the present chapters more than the flashback chapters but really liking how the two societies are different
