Bittersweet ending but overall a good book!

Annoys me when people aren’t truthful with their feelings bc it would save a lot of heartache in the future. Which is kind of the premises of this book. Though I also understand being young and learning how to be honest with yourself n w/ others n how scary that can be bc you never know how the other person is gonna react so you don’t wanna ruffle those types of feathers. Just something that you learn with age.

This was a bittersweet read. I did enjoy it, but was very frustrated with the father‘s lack of excepting of his daughter being the way that she is from birth.

Interested to see Wallace’s character development as he is a bit of an ass right now.
Obviously, it does stem from his childhood

I am shocked by the ending of Lenny‘s father, but at the same time not because I don’t know how else they would have gotten out of that without him coming after the two of them. I do feel bad for the person that he was prior to becoming an alcoholic and abuser as well as who he could’ve become after if he had gotten help for his Mental state.

To me the only way out is he would need to go to rehab and leave Alaska because Lenny‘s father is clearly mentally unstable and living in a town where he sees himself as competition to the walkers will only end in a terrible way. He can’t even control himself on his own let alone adding others into it

Had sympathy for the father but knowing he hits Lennis mother, sympathy gone.
His responsibility to get help and make changes no matter how hard bc hitting a loved one is never a choice.

Very disappointed and disgusted with the doctors actions. Understand it’s a different time and Down syndrome may have not been publicly talked bout n not as much information about it as we have now not however to do what he did and watch his wife wither away and tear the children apart is cold.
I don’t have much sympathy for him and the fact he didn’t even try n made a decision like that w/out his wife input

Crazy! Found out Whitney is a psycho.
Nothing scarier than questioning your own reality and not having anybody believe you.

Josh is an interesting character

So far, really good!

Interested to learn why he’s ghosting her.
Bc if he has a working phone and social and have such a supposedly great time; what’s stopping him?
