Makes me sad in a bad way. It’s in girls POV, and it “makes sense”to her but it’s just completely awful. Her naivety is glaring whenever she justifies/tries to persuade him and you realize that he’s destroying her life. After the first boundary gets crossed, it just exponentially gets worse.

I just borrowed this book again because I couldn’t finish it in time but holy crap literally I pick up on page 79 and I’m already on the break of tears. Vuong is a natural poet I feel so deeply towards him and his words 💔

Every chapter ends with Circe reevaluating her circumstances and role. I hope she doesn’t loose her kindness :(
