10/10 now. The plot is moving along and the characters are unraveling finally.

8/10 so far. Slow burn.

The book started off swiftly, jumping right into the heat of things. It’s been full of comedy and intensity between both main characters. Cassie brings Delilah Green vibes — quick-witted, tough on the outside, and a mush on the inside.

The perfect recipe for a fake-dating trope.

The book has become slightly confusing for my goldfish brain. I feel like i’m going crazy while reading it. Control has lost control of himself. I don’t know what else to note; my brain hurts.

This book is mostly just about Control and his past life. Mostly what led him to being Control working at Southern Reach. He dislikes Grace and was never a fan of the past director who set out into Area X with Ghost Bird. Extremely slow book compared to the first.

Slow but a lot of information on the actual facility rather than the information we learn about Area X in the first book.
