There's something nourishing about the writing style of this book. It's simplistically decorative and illuminating, perfectly describing scenes and feelings without overkilling it with detail. The narrative is much more sensational in the way that it's told, without overdoing it as many contemporary writing styles do. I feel as though I'm sent back in time reading this (after a period of reading many modern works)
