Anu is finished with The Second Empress: A Novel of Napoleon's Court
Listened to the audiobook.

I am a huge fan of Michelle Moran, but this book was less interesting for me than the others. The changing voices were sometimes confusing, but maybe it is because this is a subject/ time period that I am less familiar with.

Anu is starting Namma Bangalore: The Soul of a Metropolis
A great guidebook for anyone considering moving to Bangalore who hasn’t been there before. For those of us who have, some of the things mentioned are obvious or even debatable. It should be noted that there are quite a few references to COVID as this was likely written at that time. Also, the author is Tamilian and seems to make a lot of comparisons between Bangalore and Chennai

Anu is finished with Maria: A Novel of Maria von Trapp
Listened to the audiobook.

Short and sweet story about the real Von Trapp family, whose story is of course more complicated than the movie or the musical suggests. It gives more depth to the beloved character of Maria and show Georg in a different light.

Anu is starting Healing From Our History: How Colonial-Era Famines Led to A Modern South Asian Health Crisis
The premise seemed to be about how South Asian colonial history affected their health in current day. Instead only the beginning and the end of the book talk about that. The bulk (200/250 pages) talks about British colonial history affected mismanagement
