I've barely started reading yet, but this will be a good resource for my world design, for novels and for D&D campaigns.

I'm loving the way the author handles the bond between the Animist and his Anim (aka animal companion). Their two spirits are intertwined, inseperable. Can't wait to see how the story ends.

Interesting so far.

I started reading this book yesterday and I'm almost finished. I had resisted reading this gem of writing know-how for one reason or another for many years. But I've learned many important lessons already. Never stop practicing. Never stop reading. Use characters and situations to drive a story, not an engineered plot.

Not sure I'll finish this. It's full of humor so it's entertaining, but it rides a dangerous line between "having fun with" and "making fun of" fantasy tropes.

Wow, not that far into the book and things have already escalated quickly. So far it's a good read (haha) filled with humor-inducing dialogue and metaphors. This book answers the question we have all asked at some point; what would a fantasy land be like if it was RULED OVER BY A DRAGON?!

Just started it! Seems like a generic fantasy. Hoping it will surprise me.
