Started off well but then went off a bit.

I didn't realise this was for young adults when I bought it. I thought the life change would be an injury but disappointingly, the story is about teenage pregnancy. It has some merits I guess as in it was an easy read and some aspects were realistic. Very much rose tinted in the end. The skating aspect was a bit lame though.

I love Andy Hamilton's work esp Old Harrys Game and there were definitely elements of OHG in this book. So it had a warm familiarity. However there was also a certain inevitability about it too so you wanted a different ending. Anyway it was entertaining especially as it was hand written.

A must read but quite repetitive. Also the men in it do not engage their brains much and all the characters spend alot of time asleep or describing their sleep or that of others.
Some bits were really painfully dragged out and the ending was disappointing to say the least. But hey it's a classic and pretty easy to understand.

Not one of Nick Hornby's best but ok. Best thing about this book was how he describes Nick Drake's music. I started to listen to him as a result.

Got better as it went along. Very thought provoking and sad.

Not one of my favourites. Just not enough going on and not funny.

Tedious beyond imagination. Something has to happen soon.

Fab loved it

Great book. Read in a day on holiday. Many laugh out loud moments and decent ending.

Two thirds in and they finally get to Northanger Abbey. Lots of character building but very little has happened. Maybe just me.

It was an ok read. Think it draws on some of Jo's experience as a psychiatric nurse. Good if you are a Smith's fan.

Gets better as you go along but essentially a bit dull.

It is not great. Very longwinded.

Loved it.
