The amount of propaganda in this book is craaaaazy.

This book lacks any depth or critical thinking. None of the characters feel real and all of this book feels so fake and emotionless

This book is ridiculously horrible

This book is already so problematic in the portrayals of Muslims/ Syrians. This will make for a fun book-club read with my friends so we can trash all of the silly tropes.

Back to Villette. This is a pretty slow book so far but it’s kinda relaxing to read.

I finished part 1 and I am absolutely in love. This book is so good, I can’t believe I never read it before. It’s such a simple and lovely story, it makes you feel calm and peaceful.

The movies do not do this book any justice.

Jo is too relatable

For some reason I thought this book would be similar to Jane Eyre. It’s not at all but it’s actually really good so far. It starts off quicker than JE and Lucy Snowe is nothing like Jane at all. Lucy is such an infatuating character, we still hardly know her at all. I love how she went from I’m poor and have no relations in England to getting on a ferry to France. I am really enjoying this one so far.
