giving murakami a shot for the first time since high school and i’m actually really enjoying it

this book is so irritating i’m ready to dnf,,,, the main character is so insufferably contrarian. i’m not even that sensitive about “political correctness” or whatever but it feels like Astrid is deeply resentful towards any version of lesbianism/“queerness” that isn’t her ideal white femme-for-femme relationship. it feels like the author using a self insert to vent her own frustrations.

idk if i’m vibing with this. feels edgy for the sake of it

honestly surprised at how much i’m enjoying this so far

reading this at my boring mediocre job hits close to home
