This Skin Was Once Mine and Other Disturbances
Seedling was interesting. Not much character background but very visceral and graphic. Interesting way of showing grief and literal wounds. The end was abrupt and so so scary.

First story was pretty good. Although I wanted more character development and it felt predictable and like other stories where woman finds out her father is a serial killer… idk why that’s a common story/plotline. But yay lesbians! Also why was she kicked out of the house at 9? I wish the backstory was explained more…

I like the main character the most out of any McFadden’s I’ve read. Still very annoying, repetitive and I’m not sure why I keep consuming all the Freida McFadden possible. The characters are whiny annoying and unlikable and their inner voice/motivations are AGGRAVATING! But still. I’m hooked.

What is she “hard of SMELLING!?” Cracked me up.
Blake is so annoying and so hateable and nothing has really happened but I can’t stop listening. Thank you Freida.

It’s giving Mexican gothic so far. I hate miss baker. Can’t tell if the characters are bland or boring or good yet

I loved how he described his books as his children, his but not when they leave to enter schools, libraries and people’s imaginations.

PG. 58 “And we have a right to imagine ourselves as pharaohs, and then again the responsibility to ask if a pharaoh is even worthy of our needs, our dreams, our imagination”
His writing is spectacular. Beautiful!

The book gets slower as the pre climax does in a usual Stephen King does… almost like we’re in a normal perfect world. I love this Suspense. How will he pull the trigger? What will happen to Sadie?
I’m still confused WHY we’re focused on JFK. why was this the pivotal moment we wait 5 years for? I am beginning to forget Jake. And George seems to be forgetting too… LOVE IT

Gosh. The cover is amazing. But I don’t like the writing and the timeline is SO confusing. It jumps timelines in the SAME PARAGRAPH. I wish the storyline was more consistent. And I love short chapters but everything feels like it abruptly ends, with no ? Nuance? Insight? Just. Happenings. I feel bad. I want to finish it though
