Love the art. Finna go play some DQXI

Saiko and shujin are a light/Ryuk foil and I love it. The story seems to have lots of space for progression and plot twists. The idea of being one’s own genius and how much school proves that genius is really relatable

The juxtaposition of an unemployed yet free relationship…. God damn this story is so good.

The bit with Kato taking the guitarist out for a drink was really insightful. It’s relieving to see how much life musicians need to live before they embark a new one. You just need to find your voice

Mei honestly got more drip than anybody else here. Her lack of awareness to her own beauty feels kinda ironic to me (maybe this is subjective), knowing that Kurosawa kissing every girl makes her insecure and knowing her history with being bullied, I guess after being introduced to both Kurosawa and Mei, at least for me, it feels like they coulda met much sooner if it weren’t for societal distractions.

Chapter 7 had a very tense moment with Todd and Manchee finding a girl, with another plot twist of Aaron’s return from the dead. Ngl the whole chapter I thought Todd was trying to make himself believe the girl just wasn’t a spackle, and that it in fact was a spackle the whole time. But Aaron’s return gave me a sense of relief and who the threat was. Great writing here

•I love the characterized spelling in Todd’s narration. It is an effective way to immerse the reader in the setting and plot of this mysterious town
