She knows she’s going to tell because her mother (also a witch) sold her soul to the gates of hell when she was a kitten.
Chester/raze refuses to eat her when he learns who she is and has a dream that night of Blacktail. Blacktail tells him when he dies he will be welcome on Blacktails hill, and also a message for little kitty mother that the gates of hell have closed for her, her soul is hers again.

Until all of mankind expect those who have a close relationship with animals (like mercy) die.
The cars no longer kill people, habitat is no longer taken, areas are reclaimed.

Later Chester now names raze is chasing little kitty mother (not knowing she’s a witch) to eat her with his pack. She reveals she knows he knows Blacktail and he doesn’t eat her although she’s ready to be eaten

He releases all the animals, and heals them with his blood. They are wary of taking his blood as they have been infected with a ‘blood curse’ by the humans but they are healed. The cat stays back to see the scientist arrive at the lab, blacktail attacks him but lets him leave. He is infected with the blood curse the animals had plus whatever illness Blacktail had, he passes it to his family and so on

He will have puppies and they will be hunters.

I kind of think Blacktail might actually be the forest god himself. And this whole journeys been him travelling to awaken his own powers?

He reaches a lab, where they test on animals. The men guarding it die upon seeing him. And he frees the animals trapped there. He heals them. He tells them about the hunt and how they are to go out and honour it.

Plans to find the other abandoned dog and maybe go pay his old owner a visit and rip her apart.

Animals of all sorts know of Blacktail and his quest and come out to see him on his journey. A chihuahua brings him some scraps. He looks in to the dogs mind and sees centuries of inbreeding, his mind a mess of panic, his balls cut off in puppyhood. Blacktail restores them, and tells the dog he is free of man.

Blacktail fights the angel and there is a lot of fire, Chester runs away. He awakes the next morning to find blacktail, he’s beat up. He tells Chester he must be moving on now but Chester will be fine, he tells Chester there is meat over the hill and another dog has been abandoned beyond that, he should find her and help her. Chester finds the meat and it’s an Angel wing… he feels powerful and healed and

Forgetting his task to find the forest god and offers him renren and his puppies back: because she is dead and he can’t bring her back and the puppies never lived, that’s why they would need to stay in this middle land (like purgatory) until blacktail dies then renren and the puppies would also just stop existing. But renren tells him no, to get revenge for her and their puppies!

And he leaves her to it. He’s in the desert and he meets Chester who was abandoned by his human and used to approach people for food etc but then someone threw hot oil at him and now he’s scared. Blacktail teaches him to hunt and they kill 2 hikers. They follow another 2 hikers in to the desert where they start a fire and an angel comes out of it and offers blacktail to stay in this middle land forever

He comes to an area where all the animals are fed and looked after by mercy, they consider her their god (think it’s like an animal sanctuary?) This pisses blacktail off. There is another cat witch there who has reversed mercy’s illness (cancer I assume) and has given it to blacktail. He kills most the animals is going to kill mercy but she shoots at him while he’s attacking the beagle that protected her

Will be their leader now. Quick foot denies this and he attacks her to remind her of her place. When he leaves (he needs to continue his mission) he is bigger and hears the other two wolves bringing little one bear meat and calling him lord. Little one dreams of blacktails mother in heat, there is no one to mate with as no other wolves are on her mountain. She mates with a great power (maybe a god?)

•he agrees to fight fatberry with fang and his pack. During the fight Blacktail is knocked down. Fatberry snaps fangs neck killing him, quick foot (fangs mate) tells the other wolves to run while little one snaps at fatberry to protect Blacktail.
Little one takes a real beating but Blacktail wakes up and kills her, he returns little one to the den and tells quick foot and the other 2 wolves that little one

•Blacktail crosses their land as they were warned. Fang the leader welcomes Blacktail to their group. They treat little one a half breed wolf in their pack poorly, only valuing him because he brings squirrels when they have nothing else. Blacktail chooses to sleep next to him as he is also a half breed. Little one idolises blacktail. Blacktail is huge now like, bigger than a wolf should be maybe?

•word of blacktail spreads through the forest and the domesticated animals. The cats talk highly of him and the dogs leave food offerings for him passing by.
• a pack of wolves are struggling to survive since a bear named fatberry moved in to their territory since hers was destroyed. They fought her once and lost 2 wolves. They lost another wolf when they split to the 4 winds to look for new land - with no luck

•when blacktail is better he takes Blacktail in to. Long dark cave to meet his god. There are many bodies in this cave. He takes the vet with him and kill’s him in the cave, the vet comes back from the dead as the god.
•he speaks to Blacktail about his father, but doesn’t really have any answers on how to help Blacktail find the forest god, he turns the hider in to a coyote for his service.

• his god started speaking to him from under his bed and told him to free himself. So he killed his abuser and cut out his heart to give to his god. He is then ‘caged’ for a long time. He speaks to the mice and cockroaches to get out. He gets a vet for blacktail, when he returns from getting a vet he is injured, the vet helps Blacktail with his leg, then hider feeds Blacktail more human - which he eats as well

•blacktail is now is further out that he’s ever been and the menfolk on this area are not searching for him. He is hit by a car crossing a road and his back leg is hurt, maybe broken.
•the crawls away and finds a man. The man can speak to him in the language of the hunt. Blacktail is shocked. The man feeds him another human and tells him his story, his father killed himself, he was taken in to care and abused

•little kitty mother (like a little witch cat, very powerful) hears of blacktail and warns the dogs of men they will suffer if they help man find blacktail.
• a fox helps blacktail escape the area, eventually giving his life so blacktail can remain safe.
•blacktail meets little kitty mother and she tells him he must find the forest god and awaken him to sort the problem that is man out. no idea where he is

•she whines to her female owner something is not right but the female owner doesn’t understand and feeds her and leaves her in the yard.
• when blacktail returns she is dead. He gets in the house and kills the young boy and then the mother and the father and destroys the house and rips up their bodies.
•the men find the bodies and send search parties for the wolf that did this.

•they discuss running away together back to his mountain, she is pregnant with his puppies, blacktail wants to go tonight but Renren wants to say goodbye to the human child she is fond of.
The next time he comes he sees her being loaded in to the car, she said she is fine, the car is enjoyable.
• when she returns she smells different and he can no longer smell his puppies in her. She’s been cut open.

• blacktails mother and sisters were killed when he was a puppy by men. He survived because he was out stalking a deer at the time. He lived alone on the mountain of his mother’s territory.
• he smells a scent and follows it down mountain to a small holding where he meets a dog. He jumps the wall, she is chained in the yard. They talk. She is in heat, they mate. He returns frequently bringing her his hunt.

Allowed to inherit. It went to a distant relation overseas. When that relation died because she had acknowledged Peter as her child. He could (and did) inherit it and he gave Roxanne and Persephone some money so she could move. Persephone is revealed to have an imaginary friend called daisy, but it’s actually Daphne (she just didn’t like the name) who she talks to about missing her friend Mabel.

One night much later she hears glass smashing and looks out and sees Shane (Persephones dad) carrying her out of the house, she comes out, all the neighbours come out to the noise of Roxanne and Mabel arguing with Shane. Persephone bites him and he drops her and pulls his gun on her, Mabel gets between them and is shot and dies.

She never got her mothers house because she killed her dad, legally she was not

Mabel never had a friend. She was abused by her teacher. Then she met the nice Greek boy but she never had an actual friend. So sad.
Turns out she had a baby in the psych ward, that Ness adopted and then she visited when she was released, Peter, her neighbour across the road.
Everyone is supportive of her and when the documentary comes out the nation is sorry for ostracising her.

Her dad has killed cess. He tells Mabel that she did it. Mabel hits him with his very sharp umbrella until he dies.
She is arrested for it, in court ness backs her up that her father killed cess but public opinion for her isn’t great, she gets admitted to a mental institution instead of jail because
And here’s the twist
Daphne was never real. She was real in kindergarten, she did not move back.

Mabel returns home from school early one day to find her dad at the house; she creeps in and he is shouting at cess and ness. They’re in bed together and he’s calling them whores. They notice Mabel and he tells her she’s coming with him, she runs and Ness goes after her. She runs to daphnes house, where she tells her everything and then eventually goes back, her dad’s car is still there. She comes in to find

In the current Mabel is thinking of selling her house after someone painted MAD on the front of it. She’s realising how much she loves her neighbours and doesn’t want to keep bringing trouble to their door. Persephone is very upset about this. Mabel is doing her last blast on interview about her childhood.

Oh also childhood Mabel is seeing the boy who apologised for bullying her. He’s Greek and lovely to her

Telling people it was her. Also he’s protesting the will. And saying he needs the house to raise his family in (that he will have Mabel) and now Susan’s daughter. He’s now with Susan publicly. Mabel watches Susan’s house and sees her dad purposely not catch Susan’s daughter making her fall from a tree, she realises her dad is just sadistic? And it’s never been about her.

The police are at the school the next day and say they want to speak to Mabel as she saw him that night. So it comes out about them. Billy (who woke up from his coma with no memory but a lot meaner and stupider) hits in her a lot now she’s known as a slut. Moms ignore her. Dads check her out. Eventually Tessa confesses to killing mr L and using the slashed tyre changing as a decoy. Cess finds out Mabel’s dad is

She asks for mr L and the woman seems to two straight away what for, Mabel tries to leave but Tessa (the FIANCÉ) catches her up and asked if they had something going on, then said they had to move because he did it to his last pupil at his last school. Mabel is annoyed and slashes his tyre. The next day he is not in school. And at lunch it’s announced he is dead. The car crushed him while he was changing a tyre.

mr Loukas is still kissing Mabel when one day he takes her in the school shed and goes to take it further when they are interrupted by the head teacher, Mabel hides but as mr L leaves with the head she’s locked in, she manages to break out of the shed but it’s now quite late. She decides to go to his house thinking he would be relieved to see her and they would laugh. Her surprise when a woman answers the door
