Firebird is amazing so far! I didn’t realize how controversial this book was until I sadly read the reviews. Most I’m finding didn’t read the entire book. This book does not romanticize slavery, it is against it and the setting is in Ancient Rome where in actual times had that. Luckily the MMC is very against this and is hiding the MMC to protect her. He’s wanting to change Rome for the better.

Amazing so far! I’ve cried tears, literal tears and find myself rooting for these two. What a gut wrenching love story! So many heartfelt factors.

Okay, I’ve heard of LJ Shen in all my book groups, and I typically always read fantasy romance. I have now come to the realization that I have been missing out.

I mean the bantering between Maddie and Chase Is grade A golden! I’m over here laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoying this book so far!

Not bad so far! Character developments started to happen and storyline is picking up.

This is a great adult retelling of wizard of oz so far - some spice, a lot of gore and good bantering between the Mc’s.

Haven’t been able to read past week but love the intro so far! It’s going to be another epic ride/read I can already tell 😀

This book is SO good so far!! Love the interactions between the characters, the banter, the world building. Sarah J Maas has done it again 💙

We’ll see how the rest of the story goes. Slow burn, slow into magic but realistic.

Hopefully this book picks up. I’m not a fan of the authors pronouns they used, it’s confusing to read, nor the short chapters. Seems choppy but a realistic Magic brewing and a slow burn. So far I’m torn. We’ll see how it ends.
