I’m wondering if I’m reading books with an audience I’m no longer apart of. I keep getting trapped by the idea of a nostalgic, simple dark romance story with elements I loved as a teen, but every time I read one that fits the bill, I’m disappointed. Are the books changing? Or do I just prefer a genre I haven’t discovered yet?

I really love the prose so far; it’s light and easy to follow but not immature in a way that has me losing focus. Very lyrical!!

took a break. it’s hard trying to convince me to pick this back up again.

Largely indifferent.

Characters read the same. Dialogue does not seem natural. Prose is pretty good, with imagery that did make me shudder a little.
