Already better than a couple of books I've tried this year in this genre

To read this, I better separate the artist from his art. Calls himself 'Critically acclaimed storyteller' on his profile. But who acclaimed him? The way he describes his book, everything else in fantasy is garbage. Literally from the bookpage: 'in brilliant contrast to the post-modern cynicism and nihilism so common to the stories of our day.' Calls himself brilliant? THAT'S where he was critically acclaimed! Gotcha

This is better. Been reading too much trash lately.
