donna tartt’s writing is so inspirational to me.

palate cleanser after that awful book + it’s time for my annual reread

she shouldve just written this as a damn screen play if it was going to be all dialogue and stage direction

god this is painful

this book is so ridiculous. just one long info dump in the form of dialogue mixed with colloquialisms that dont fit the genre and smut that borders on vulgar instead of sexy. also, let’s just make a decision instead of teasing a will they/won’t they romance between poppy and kieran for 800 pages, it grows TIRING

this whole book has been dialogue and she just traveled to new york city like this is reaching levels of ridiculous previously thought of as impossible for the fbaa series

there is no reason for this book to be nearly 800 pages long
