How have I never read this before? So far, I love it. It is terrifyingly accurate, although I do hate the portrayal of manic pixie dream girl Julia, whose only purpose it seems is to be pleasure and encourage advancement for Winston. I do, however, also appreciate Orwell's exposure of Winston's toxic masculine ideologies.

Yes, many people in power abuse the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues, but this writer misunderstands this act and should have actually interviewed people who speak in tongues.
