this book is making me realize i could’ve never gone to med school. these surgeries are way too visual and i’m quite literally feeling nauseous and uncomfy

i’m having such a tough time getting into this book i feel like i’ve been reading it for a month now

UM i thought yes????? who is this lady having a midlife crisis in response to her husband’s midlife crisis

this book is absolutely bonkers in the most jaw-dropping way

my one ick about this book is that it’s set in the UK but they call the store tj maxx instead of tk maxx and tbh it’s so irrelevant the the story that they did not need to make that change for the american edition

these two are clearly in love with each other someone tell them to just shut up and date

this girl feeling “moral discomfort” bc the daughter of a prominent republican chose her stolen book for a book club is quite literally laughable. i would frankly rather john mccain’s daughter name my first born than ever be friends with this woman. i have to constantly remind myself this is a fictional book bc i’m angry👹

the main character grew up watching columbo with her grandma so that’s a cute lil samesies

i thought this book wasn’t going to make me cry but here we are towards the very end crying🥺

HAHAHA ok kinda flipped for me bc my mom’s the one that is the child of immigrants whereas my dad is the immigrant but wowza

wow i feel so seen. this is based on the author’s real life growing up indian-american in white as heck pennsylvania where her dad grew up in canada as a child of immigrants and married her mom who’s from india which caused her to have not the full child of immigrant experience but also never quite fully american.

i’m so out of depth with this book. i had to look up what a WASP was bc she kept referring to her and her family as that

this woman is a recently divorced 53-year old and i feel like i’m a little out of my depth reading about her inner thoughts and experiences lol

this book being written in 1953 about a dystopian future and it being SO similar to 2025 is quite frankly haunting
