This is the third time I’ve read this in the last 12 months, but the first time since I started going through Brooks’ back catalogue of interviews, lectures, and broadcasts chronologically, most of which came out while he was in the process of writing. Think a lot about his discussion on the lack of emotional honesty in the right’s arguments as I finish up the Sam Harris portion again.

Gorgeous book. Writer/artists are magicians and should be feared accordingly.

This book is so elite.

More war crimes. After the somehow polarizing experience that was Civil War, I am so excited to be back to the simple, self contained, satisfying story telling of Tom King.

Brief break from Civil War

These dumbass reporters are dead aren’t they.

Lmao they never showed us Hank doing any double teaming, because everyone with a pulse would guess the twist. Hank Pym is allergic to doing the right thing 10000 times out of 10.

Fraction understands Punisher in a way that a lot of modern writers are afraid to. Everyone wants to “humanize” him, but really end up watering down his violence and cleaning up his motivations to turn him into an admirable figure. Fraction understands that the Punisher isn’t a role model (and not in a “cool rebel” way). He’s a sick, sad man who can’t escape his own violence. And he doesn’t want to.

This book has two speeds: profound or completely incoherent. I love it.

Somebody please tell me there is on going series where Ben Grimm continues working with Les Heroes de Paris. This issue was such a nice rest from the monotonous moral relativism. Just nice colorful people doing exciting thing. And eating.
