This is the most drama filled book I've ever read lol. Idk if I like it or hate it

I ended up skimming some parts because why are we spending a page or two explaining the same thing over and over again? Get to the point please

The beginning feels very rushed. So far, the story is clearly only written to benefit Xingyin STILL. I am disappointed but I will continue to read.

This book put me in a reading slump. I couldn't find any interest in what the character was doing, and I always found myself questioning his reasons. This will be DNF until I can find it in myself to pick it up again.

This book creates a very thrilling and intriguing idea of aliens that have invaded earth to escape their inhabitable planet. I love the plot, but the main character's stupidity is ruining it a little bit.

I could probably finish this today, but I've got to go to work soon so I can buy good books like this lol. I have many great things to say about this book. They will be put aside for the review!

Ive got some comments and a slight complaint about the writing style. Its nothing bad though. I understand that the POV is from Jeannette, but it feels more of a retelling from her parents POV most of the time. I have a question about this too but that will be saved for the review.

Its been a while since Ive read a memoir. The last time I read one was in middle school. I have no idea who Jeannette is but her lifestory is a really interesting one. The family dynamic is different and one that is concerning but also.. sad? I cant find the word for it rn but continuing this book will bring the word to mind.

Omg.... I am so amazed and frustrated. Im nearing the end, and all I can say is that I am still loving how things are going despite the situations that are coming up!! T.T

The story is more political than I thought it would be. Lots of history still needs to be revealed!

I am absolutely in awe with the worldbuilding and character development. Despite my prior struggle with reading 5 POV, I have no complaints about how the story is. The story really keeps me on edge with how much I don't know yet.

I was pretty overwhelmed when I heard that this book would have 5 POVs, but I'm glad to say that it's going ok so far. I've reached the 4th POV and everything has been interesting.

Wow I got hooked so fast. I would finish the book in one day if I could, but unfortunately life gets in the way. :c

The flow of this book is amazing. Everything that has happened correlates and has a reasoning. I wonder how Yunxian and Meiling's friendship will proceed after learning about Meiling's family's struggles.

Very informational within its time period. It didnt hold my attention at first but after a couple more pages, I started to get hooked.

The forbidden love hurts so much!! I wish that Xingyin can find some peace with Liwei

The writing is a lot more mature than I thought it would be. Doesn't remind me of YA books and I dig it
