loving this so much so far!!! light but deeply evocative descriptions, shady summer setting, and keen, precise insights on architectural style.... perhaps the perfect book for a slow summer read

way to over-explainy so far... not only are scenes happening verbatim multiple times (fine, it's a time loop, but you could summarize?), but the narrator also repeats things we already know.... will switch to listening at x1.25 lol

dense ass brick book BUT I am enjoying it. Carton gives every character a shot at complex interiority that makes it satisfying to read

fiction side is Catherine Lacey giving Sheila Heti a bit?? not mad though. those are my girls
