Apologies for the rapid-fire updates. I just learned that you can edit what version of a book you read, so I went back and changed a bunch.

The first two chapters alone were assigned for a class (that is, Calling/Regeneration and Faith/Conversion). Bavinck is very thorough, but clear. Many ideas were new to me, but many ideas were clarified validations of vague ideas that I had before. Good reading.

I'll be honest, I barely gave this book a chance. I can tell that the story may be fascinating, but I just wasn't vibing with the narrative style — I'm more in the mood for lighthearted, these days. Maybe I'll try it again another time. Sorry, mom.

I forgot for a minute how relaxing it can be to read non-fiction when the author isn't attacking your beliefs. Lol.

Reading this for an Apologetics class, as an example of the Atheistic perspective.

While I am only two chapters in (so far), I am shocked at how poorly written the book is. Dawkins has repeatedly made unsubstantiated claims about what "historians" think, has greatly misrepresented Christian beliefs, and has shown his bias — such as asking, "Do Christians really believe that?" after simply quoting a Bible story.
