woah heavy stuff

a very funky and strange book (+ very concerning) but pretty fun to read

binge read it and it got really good in the middle

I enjoyed it a lot but I feel like there were a lot of character introductions that felt a bit unnecessary and didn't feel super cohesive

I just can't with the writing and the character is just insufferable rn

one of the parts is how her dad keeps watching the news every morning and she's like ugh idk why journalists keep covering this it's all about corrupt politicians that we can't do anything about. not a fan of this character at all

I also get the inkling she isn't gonna really grow so

good book!! pretty heartwarming and fun but not super memorable but a nice read

incredible -- the latter part wasnt what I was expecting and I honestly maybe would've liked something a little different but I think that the story was incredible and very well written

backmans special talent is making you fall in love w every single character

I need to put the book down sometimes bcz I know it's going to be so heartbreaking soon but the moment hasn't arrived yet

not sure how someone can write stories this incredibly but wow

ugh it's so beautiful I don't really have the words to ever describe the way I feel whenever I read this authors books

somehow both incredibly heart wrenching and heartwarming

loving it so far a very fredrik backman kind of book

he has such a distinct writing style I love it

very good -- her books always feel kind of long and some sentences feel unnecessary but I think that's mainly because I'm so used to hearing the characters just speak and sometimes their thoughts

but I think I've realized her books really reflect the way each person thinks about the world and their personality is shown in so many different ways

my favourite book of the series for sure -- there was so much to it

the way the author intertwines the stories is so well done omg it's all so like perfectly coming together

honestly very very gripping and I'm starting to really appreciate the little details the author puts into narrating the different characters' thoughts

actually so much better than I expected (at the beginning I wasn't so sure bcz i was a bit skeptical of the writing) but I finished it in one sitting (started at 10 and finished at 1) bcz I couldn't put it down

its such an important story to tell and heartwrenching while also being heartwarming -- the friendship was so sweet and the ending was good

honestly one of the best books I've read in a hot sec

so good in terms of story, pacing and character development and like actually realistic too

LOVED the name changes -- such a huge thing w chinese immigration and also very interesting to learn more about history through the lens of these characters

the ending felt a little unfulfilling but I def understand why and it was so amazing otherwise

It was actually very enjoyable and I feel like it was a really good introduction to the issues w the healthcare system in a very digestible manner. I also liked the various anecdotes -- it made everything fun to understand and im sure it was prob quite healing for the author to write this as a memoir + call to action combined.

I would have loved to understand more abt exact action plans but love!!

I really liked the last few chapters esp about the birth alerts (which I didn't even know existed and they are horrible) and how we need to decriminalize drugs

unfortunately I still have to finish a 2 month overdue essay and my exams are in a week send help

on egypt rn!!

omg it got better i like the social section a lot i think these anecdotes are actually quite powerful
