not impressed by this at all. i see it’s trying to be like moshfegh’s homesick for another world and the writing isn’t strong at all. i think in short stories even the smallest details come around full circle, i found some of the shorties so far lazily written and im kind of like “ok?” so far its a miss for me but ill stick it thru

how could a book this chaotic be so boring? i felt like it wouldn’t end and when it did it was … meh

i feel kind of insane reading this. i can’t tell if i hate it yet but definitely feel insane reading this .. need 2 take a break

k i kind of hate this so far. way too many characters introduced at once. i don’t read russian lit for this exact reason

about halfway thru and i hate felix and simon. am i supposed to sympathize with them? idk. women literally never win i see … i hope i end up liking this book in the end. although i have to say i don’t mind rooneys writing style as much as some people do. i actually quite like it

camille you insane, brilliant and eclectic woman. while i don’t agree with all of her opinions, i have to say her libertarian position relating to feminism and sex & gender reads as refreshing in 2024.

listen. i get the bad reviews, i do. but i loved this book even though i saw it coming. hated the end. eddie’s last long email broke me.
