“I was no walk in the park, Merry.”
“Who wants to walk on the park? I think that man would run wild with you.”

Whew! This hit me.

“ I will love you until I die. We said death to us part.” “Death is tearing us apart” Her laugh is bitter and short. “ We assumed it would have to be our deaths that ended this. Turns out it was theirs.”

This is a short book (approximately 150 pages) but for some reason it is a difficult read. The writing style is different from what I am used to reading.

“Maybe I was always destined to climb over the bodies of those I once loved to get where I needed to go”. Joni has me looking at her sideways with this statement.

Still waiting on a shocking element to this book. Each chapter alternates from the past to present day and I am more interested about what happened in the past.

Anyone can speak a lie. Their lies can paint the most beautiful picture, but when the rain comes the illusion is washed away, never truly there to begin with. Sincerity, however remains. The picture they paint may not be what you want to see, but their truth remains despite any storm.
