I’m halfway through and at this point am so close to abandoning because honestly? I’m cringing the whole time and feel kinda disgusted 🥲🥲🥲

As I’m stewing in my anxiety on Mary’s behalf over whether or not such-and-such will come to pass, it’s occurred to me that this must be exactly what it must have been like to read P&P without already knowing the ending, before Lizzie’s ending up with Mr. Darcy became too widely-circulated to avoid prior to reading

I think my brain is too smooth for all the lore and names to stick but the part of me that understands about 45% of what’s going on is deeply impressed by the world building
