Eddie is the most puppy like character I’ve ever read

I am going to scream. I am going to scream.

This has already earned a spot among my favorite books

I knew that gangrene was fatal but I never thought in detail about how the deaths occurred. But I needn’t because this book has provided me with graphic detail of more than one account

I may have to take a day off from this book because while I’m thoroughly enjoying it picturing such gruesome scenes is still taking a toll

This is much more captivating than I could’ve imagined

Less than two chapters in and I feel I must read book 1 first

I find it ironic that I DNF’d Beauvallet for a man declaring intentions to marry a woman he hardly knows who has already refused him and this is the next one I pick up. If it wasn’t for the mystery aspect I would be giving up on this one too but Ashley has me on a lead and I want to know who did it and I want to understand these characters confounding motives

I think the denseness of the old style language is slowing me down but it is still entertaining enough that I’m not dissuaded

I am intrigued by the characters (and the ship, of course) but I cannot imagine them falling in love, or more accurately I cannot imagine it feeling believable in this old English style of prose. I am also at a complete loss with the description of the clothes for the same reason.

I don’t know why I’ve left this sitting for so long, it’s very pleasant

I’m not even 2 chapters in and I want to give it 5 stars for the sheer amount I’ve laughed already

I can definitely see why so many people love this one

The banter has me hooked. This seems to be exactly what I wanted it to be, indeed more than I hoped for. I can’t believe I’ve gotten so far in one day.

The charity cases make it seem cheesy and I can’t decide if I love or hate their apathy for each other. I do think there are too many minor characters and everyone being referred to by their full name so often is getting confusing.
