Only made it this far before book club meeting, but wow. Never seen anyone go this deep in the gospels. Evident of a life spent pouring over theology. Amazing.

Not what I thought it would be. It’s short excerpts like a magazine column. There’s no theme running through them. Some cute anecdotes, but lots of boring facts.

Oy veh! She’s morbid, but she’s so good. Why wasn’t this required reading in high school? “He was seventy-eight years old, and his face looked as if it had mildew on it.”

Goodman is hilarious. But it’s a little long for me, so I’m skimming over some paragraphs.
