having a normal one lately

been really struggling with this one. i realized i think its because the author continues to use the word liberation while also acknowledging his skewed base of the gay men he studied (ie, virtually no trans men)

cool art style! I feel like i can hear the artist scratching ink into their panels and their linework is so fluid and engaged with a knowledge of form. Sometimes i have a hard time discerning whats happening.

this book is giving me clarity that I think my dad probably has bipolar

I keep thinking about how my aunt (PDX, liberal, artsy, travelled) gave this book to me while I was young and still lived with my dad (doomsday prepper, bipolar, tried to homeschool me). I wonder what would’ve happened if I’d read this book then.

still on the prologue and the word “milleu” has appeared eight+ times

Wish she didn’t speak so much about calories and a lot of the chapters end in a similar rhythm.

They really are riding HARD in their hatred for fat kids. Something that is contrxtualizing my read of this is knowing that William Golding wrote LoF in the wake of his experiences teaching at a posh public school and hating his students.

This is reading like a devotional book I would have my mom read to me every night before bed. Merits a slow, mindful, and embodied reading experience.

My current big crit is that every once in a while there are entire pages blacked out with white text from the page before it, which the book originally made it seem like that format was only to be used for content warnings. Which feels confusing and slightly ill considered

A book I picked up for free and starting reading because i laughed at how silly the back description was. Silly.
