I'm enjoying the reminder that class divisions and the demonization of the poor have been present since the founding of the USA. I'm glad that my concerns about how issues other than class being utterly ignored has been unfounded so far.

Looking forward to getting up through the industrial revolution.

It's alright. I don't think I'll read the next one at this point.

I'm much more into it now, we're back on track with the story of the first book and I'm not entirely invested in what happens to anyone yet, but I somehow still keep turning the pages?

The prologue was really difficult to get through for some reason, I was just annoyed by the writing style!
"Five and twenty years", psssh. Just say twenty five and stop trying to be so stylistic, it's annoying.
But once I got to the first chapter and started reading about what was happening to Arya, I was slightly less annoyed. Slightly. Only because I feel invested in her.

I can't believe we're not yet two full months into the year (I know, we ALMOST are...) and I've already read a dozen books! I'm so pleased with myself, especially considering 90% of my reading was done while walking or bussing from one place to another.

Losing my cell phone service, and therefore access to social media while I'm outside of the house, is a hidden blessing!

GoT, as I’ve determined at the halfway point of the first book, is thoroughly readable. The narrative style serves the book well where most authors who chose the same style fail. An immersive setting is the most valuable component of the book, and serves as a solid foundation for the well-paced plot. Combined they compensate for the lack in character depth and connection.

Ohhh some of it is finally coming together and things are building up, but for where I am at the book percentage wise I can't imagine things coming to a head for a good long while which makes me wonder how things are going to immediately play out in the next 50-100 pages.

I'm already sucked in my Maya/Inara/???'s story! I appreciate that we learn about her life before The Garden.

I can't believe that Roth let two, no wait, THREE people in this book that I despise live! And let one turn traitor! Ughhhhh. It is a mark of good writing though, I suppose, to elicit such emotions in a reader....

Sort of SPOILERS below!:
I'm really liking this book so far! I can see why Tris picked the faction she did, and I am excited to see how she does in this faction and what her rank winds up being! I'm still trying to figure out how her divergency comes into play, though. The divergency so far reminds me a bit of Mare in Red Queen, we'll see how similar the two are.

I am enjoying this book, but having trouble focusing on it, That's a personal problem, however. Omar and Najwa's stories of life with Osama are truly compelling. I really wish I had to focus to just sit and READ this book! I love learning about the culture in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and now, Afghanistan. I had no idea that each country was so different from the next!

This book so far is not as compelling as Sasson's other books, but it is still interesting! I like to learn about Osama bin Laden's early life! And as with all of Sasson's books, I like to learn what it is like to be a woman in Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries.
