It's been so long since I've picked this up I'm so sorryyyyy cause it really is AMAZING it's just also intimidating 😭❤️❤️

AHHHHH I actually solved one of the ciphers before reading ahead to see how Enola did it!! This is my biggest accomplishment today lol

Also WHY is Mycroft like this (Young Sherlock Mycroft is WAY better and WAYYY out of Enola Holmes Mycroft's league)

My favorite Young Sherlock character is Mycroft and my friend told me I'd be disappointed in him in this book.. idk, he's underwhelming in comparison but not as bad as I was picturing when she told me that lol

- loving and knowing yourself isn't enough. We must forget ourselves when serving others and only in doing that are we closer to God than ever before and growing ourselves more than we thought we could.
- in giving to others a woman shall never lose herself, only gain more of her true self
- let God's light shine through you, so others can have hope, even when you have to go ❤️

- at times, we cannot forgive alone. We need to pray and ask for God's love in order to forgive others as He wants us to.
- in God's love, there is no generation gap. He calls and loves all of us regardless of how old or young we are ❤️
as women especially, we have the choice/privilege to connect ourselves to God in a way whereby we draw His nourishing love down to our very roots so that we can extend peace to others

- the first principle of good mental health is to accept that which cannot be changed
- we have the power to work MIRACLES through acts of true love and charity
- love is the conqueror of fear
- focus on giving instead of receiving
- there is much in this world that can be accomplished ONLY with the help of God—if He tells us to love, He will give us the power to do so
- forget about fear in order to know peace

- as we let go of what others have done to us, we will begin to forgive ourselves of our wrongdoings
- a good relationship is never *perfect* but it is rather rooted in a *healthy* perspective that simply overlooks the faults in others
- virtue is fundamental to true Christianity
- remember whatever judgements you pass onto others, the same is waiting for you
- if we see good in others, we will see good in ourselves

- Love can not wait for "the right object" to be fulfilled properly. Rather, it should be operated like a talent—practice it daily, give yourself time to let it grow, and learn more about what love is.
- If you do not have charity, you have nothing.
- To be anybody, you must love everybody.
- It's easier to forgive others when we realize they wronged us out of fear and not malice.

I wanted to share some notes because this is beautiful and I want to spread the inspiring things said in it. ❤️

- Fear is a request for love
- We can choose to love and feel peace or choose to fear and feel conflict
- We are always either loving or fearing
- To feel peace, we must shift out perception
- We have a choice in determining the way we perceive things
- Do not just love your peers, but everybody around you

I already love this story so much! Read chapter one before bed, because life is more whimsy with cute bedtime stories, and UGHHHHHH animals are so precious and you put them in a storybook?? PERFECTION.
