Only on Chapter 3 and this is a perfect Christmas book. Not about the season but starring a cook! It's got me thinking Christmas Trifle.

I’m reading slowly to spend as much time as possible with Miss Marple.

I am loving this book!

Only a few chapters in and I already love this book! Excellent characters, intriguing plot, and I want to visit all the actual dollhouses discussed. I think this is going to be a fave.

I am loving each gorgeously crafted phrase, sentence, paragraph. But, taken all together, the love is more a long sigh as I look at how many pages are left. I am slugging through. A beautiful, heartfelt read but very, very slow.

Fabulous read. Reading one or two cases at a time. Savoring each delicious morsel. Long live Haddock!

I'm only a little ways into the book but I love it already. Just the right mix of suspense, personal interest, and genealogy. M.L. Condike has won me over - I'm a fan!

About half-way through and it is excellent.

Chapter 5 was especially interesting re Viking and Fair Isle sheep, far smaller than modern breeds, and the place of woolens in Viking society. I'm on Chapter 6 and getting ready to read about early English woolens. Wool is my main interest and I am starting to love this book.

Perspective is such an interesting thing - we have entered the 18th Century and it feels positively modern!

Thoroughly enjoying this book and it has given me a new passion: garden history and archeology. I've got a bit of an herb garden and now I want to make it into a knot. I adore when reading spills over into real life. Thank you Nicola Cornick!

Amazing book. Elegant, nuanced study of faith that goes far beyond religion alone. Cara Wall is a major talent.
