This book is amazing couldn't put it down read 56 pages in my first sitting!

Finished the first of two mysteries in this book and the world and characters really carry the book, the framing, time period and side characters are amazing but it's the POV of the author and the quirky personality of Kindaichi that make me love the story. Might see if I can find some translations of his other adventures

This is a very hard book to rate let alone discuss - it is not meant to be discussed critically or enjoyed for leasure it's a window into a depressing drug riddled broken reality ofnAmerica showing of the countries misongonist, racist and drug riddled core and the class disparity that still exists and is exploited to this day. Did I enjoy reading this? No it was consistently unpleasant. Am I glad I did? Yes
