Only a little ways in but love love love. Precious encouragement not just for exercise but for considerations of how your physical body glorifies God.

"No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is not equally – and often far more – worth reading at the age of fifty and beyond.”
C.S. Lewis affirming my current reading habits.

Wild. I am unfamiliar with his entire story which offers a unique perspective on the narrative he presents. Really enjoying this book.

Interesting read from every front. The stories SWW tells are absolutely wild though as she compares her bosses to Tom and Daisy, she seems more like a Nick. She doesn’t own her own complicity and each story makes her sound like an extra at best if not a victim. I can appreciate the guts it took to write this book. Really interested to see how she finishes. None of the sins are surprising.

The grip this series had on me as a child was like no other. First time rereading. Funny.

Finally got off the waitlist at the library. I’m only a little ways in but it is 100% living up to the hype!!!

In depth but comprehensible. Not sure I’m going to be able to finish this bad boy before the library wants it back. 😔

Needed something light in the midst of my Civil War books to be honest. It’s been 11 years since the first time I read Harry Potter. First pages welcoming me back like an old friend.

I’d forgotten the feeling of being lost in a novel. Introduction of a new character and storyline halfway through the novel was risky but executed so well. Brooks does a great job bouncing between multiple POVs. Really excited to see how this one ends and how Brooks finishes her themes.

Picked this book up in the children’s section of the library thinking it’d been misplaced. It hadn’t! Watergate for 10+ … I was intrigued. I feel a bit like Michael Scott in the “The Surplus” being taught like I’m 5.

I am realizing how little I knew about the details and depth of Watergate. I am loving how this book focuses on the people who chose integrity, patriotism, and truth over fear and power.

Slightly defeating because this is an entry-level, concise book to explain the systems, people, and ideologies that have created modern day Mexico. Unfortunately… not entry level enough for me. 🤣 over the hump. Survive and advance

Tragic and fascinating so far. Just in the beginnings of the European incursion (1500ish). To any history lover - it is sad to know how little pre-Columbian information there is. To any human - the great population collapse is horrifying. Always love reading books written by people who are just insanely knowledgeable in such specific subjects.

Snatched this for myself while babysitting at the library. I love books about Southern history especially with such diverting storytelling wrapped into it. This book centers on the Mississippi Delta, but anyone with experience in rural Deep South would understand the feelings and patterns Thompson describes. Only a little ways in but excited to finish.

Not surprised to find that this book is incredibly convicting and oh so wonderful. Unfortunately, it has a very low “readability” for me. Going to take me a while to finish.
