Jack has started training for both his wizard side and his warrior side. Although his grade at school has started declining, his training has progressed really well. (This is the made-up update for Wednesday and out-of-class reading) Felix is fused with a fourth-dimensional being? That was something I knew would be in the book, but it's still quite shocking. Especially after finding out how it happened. This book is about accepting your differences and learning how to live with them and connect with other people. It acknowledges a lot of other topics that people don't talk about.

Alkaitis has been sentenced to one hundred seventy years in prison. 170? But I guess it is fair as it said in the book that he ran a Ponzi scheme. I didn't really know what a Ponzi scheme was until a while ago when I searched it up and it said that it was a scheme where the person takes money from his/her investors and uses it to pay back other people and it would work out but at some point in time, they run out of $

The 40 minutes of reading + the made-up reading for last week's out-of-class reading. We finally know why Alklaitis gets in jail for. And now we're seeing hoe it happened the some of the people involved. Vincent had no idea what to do and now she is on a boat, spending the rest (ish) of her life on the sea. It had become her new home.

The beginning of the book is quite surprising as one of the main characters, Rashad's, father kept telling him to go into the military as "there's no better opportunity for a black boy in this country than to join the army" (Reynolds 6). His dad keeps trying to push him to go into it but I think it's quite strange that he does.

This is honestly really good so far. Starting off with a mystery type of introduction and leaving us to dwell on what happened in his past. It's slowly starting to get revealed although, two new characters (his possible future love interests) have showed up. Remy (the main character) is a cambion, or a half-vampire. He is accompanying Zidan and Xiaodan to help them find out what is causing the mutant vampires.

The place where I left off is such a cliffhanger. I just learned that Alkaitis has been sentenced to jail for 170 years! What happened? Vincent said that maybe her mother's death was not an accident but intentional and that her brother might've known something that night he decided to write in the window. Maybe Alkaitis was her mother's murderer? But it doesn't make such sense right now.

The book has a lot of conflicting feelings. The characters themselves are looking for revenge while having both feelings of sadness and love. It's honestly a very strange mix. I feel conflicted everytime the talk and in the last chapter they confessed to each other. I know that it's just a book but it seems to me that it is going on very fast. The beginning was quite slow and now it has picked up speed quite quickly.
