I finally—FINALLY—got my hands on this book. Two years ago I almost spent around $200 on a copy of this book. Got it for $23 😁 Just finished the first short story, very idiosyncratic Walton writing here which is exactly what I was after. I want to live inside these stories for as long as I can so I’m going to stretch out reading the collection—for as long as I can! 🌬️

Oh boy, I feel another favourite book coming. Leif Enger, you have a gentle way with words that leaves me anticipating a(nother) stricken heart.

Breaking free from my reading slump gave me such a rush of hope I set the 2026 reading challenge. Manifesting this energy will stay with me until the year’s end lol 🕯️🧘‍♀️
