Andddd we’re almost to the big day. I didn’t have the chance to keep reading just now, but I wanted to. I want to know what happens. I still feel like there are too many details in each chapter but that’s okay. The whole thing with Jake/George and the mobsters was crazy. And the recovery is wild. We’ll see what actually happens on 11/22/63.

The situation with Sadie continues to be heartbreaking. Her mother… I don’t even know what to say. And, honestly, the way her father acts is worse. Jake has a lot to figure out. I’m curious to see what happens in the ensuing chapters.

I keep thinking that Jake/George needs to stop building relationships. I don’t get why he wants to increase his hurt over his time in the past. But he seems to so deeply desire friendship, community, and belonging. He wasn’t experiencing much of that in the Present, so the Past can provide something better than he’s experienced. I’m curious to see how everything works out. Only two parts left!

Wow. What a spot to end at. I can only imagine what it’s like to try to keep the future from the past. So many things that are second nature become problems, such as singing a song that hasn’t come out yet. So wild!

The Jodie stories are sweet so far. The Of Mice and Men section especially. Lots of sadness in life, but Jake seems to be trying to do some good. I’m still enjoying the book a lot!

The last couple chapters I read moved along more smoothly than the previous chapters. I’m still enjoying it, but ready for Jake to get to Dallas!

I am really enjoying the book. While there are many, many details (is this how King writes all his books?), the story is enthralling.

Jake’s first long-term journey, including all of its twists, kept me engaged and I didn’t want to stop reading.

A strong start. Lots of details that add length, but no inherently depth at this point. I’m curious to see how the details factor into the rest of the story or don’t.

The pantry is such a fun idea and the fact that it always transfers to the same time and date to start is intriguing. The time situation (always 2 minutes in the real timeline) reminds me of time in the Narnia series.
