I’m not sure if this book is my cup of tea, trying to push through a little bit more before coming to a decision.

I don’t know why but I have a feeling one of the guards are going to die.
My bet is either on Haxil or Nish dies. And I bet Nish is Callus’s (I’ve been calling her callus in my head regardless of the pronunciation guide at the front of the book lol) mate. Will update once I’m finished with the book and list spoilers

Ilara has to be the most dense person in the world. Can’t believe she wants to tell her sister Nori’s secret. This is only going to end in the King finding out.

Also if there are 4 women in the trial, how does it make sense that they would only get to have 1 date with each guy if the dates occur on a weekly basis in a span of 3 months? Unless there are 16 men? But I might have skimmed over that part.

The book has been incredibly well written, I’ve loved the jump between timelines. The first like 150-200 pages were pretty sad since we saw Addie’s history and her loneliness. BUT I just have to say I feel like Henry’s deal he made was pretty lame, or just felt less dire compared to Addie’s (possibly due to the build up provided for Addie).
