Liking this better than first book as the “gang” is already together and already know the characters, so it’s focused on the mystery.

Was hesitant because so attached to the TMC group, but loved this new cast of characters.

3.75 not bad
Strengths are characterization of three women who are isolated/lonely in different ways with disparate backgrounds coming together, solving a mystery with their own assets.
The mystery was fairly straightforward
Resolution a bit fantastical like a Disney movie but charming / cosy of course.

Wow ch 60, Richard Osman handled it masterfully. Truly a talent. Was dreading the inevitable event, but he wrote it so well.. I found myself rereading the chapter few times.

Ch 42

That’s one beautiful thing about grief, I think. That sometimes, we can find someone in the world to look at from the other side of the bridge of our torments and know that we are not alone.”

Darker than my usual reads, but picked this up only after @honestfiction’s rec saying she read in one day.. but also mostly cos of the beautiful cover/fanart 😅

Sedaris’ honest tribute to his mom who he loved so dearly that struggled with alcoholism and died from lung cancer.

Enjoyed the essays about Fit bits, grief of his lost sister, and shopping in Tokyo with his sisters !
