I"m so done with these stupid books.

Oooo, boy. It really wouldn't be a witcher novel without multiple (attempted) rapes, especially involving Ciri!

There are so many things in this book that I see that GRRM drew on. Especially the sexposition.

You know what Sapkowski is REALLY good at? Writing intense action scenes that leave you wanting more and then... switching to the perspective of some no-name character you don't give a fig about, where literally nothing interesting is happening.

Whew, almost 30% of the way into the book, and we FINALLY come back to Ciri.

*Yawn* I'm not even really reading anymore. We're still in Toussaint, Geralt is drunk on the scent of femininity, railing Fringilla, and hunting monsters, I guess. At least we left Coudwingamarer or whatever her name is. And still, no Ciri in sight even though the story started with "Let me tell you how I got here!"

Fringilla smelled... of femininity? What in the ever loving fuck does that smell like? Tiny titties and waists? What are we even doing here?

"Is this boring?"
"Yea yea!"
"Is this meandering?"
"Yea, yea!"
"Is this a waste a narrative?"
'Yea, yea!"

And naturally, it wouldn't be a witcher novel without (attempted) rape.

Is it too much to ask to start the story where it actually begins? Why do we need TWO framing devices!?

I was hopeful when we started with Ciri. But oh no, we're not starting where the story left off. Instead, she's going to tell her story to fucking Galahad. In OUR world. *sigh* fine.

So do we flashback to Ciri and the tower? LMAO, no. No, we start with the "real" Lady of the Lake, and Ciri's story is the past.

"They beat her. They beat her hard, cruelly, as a man is beaten."

Soo.... men are beaten more cruelly than women? Don't make me laugh. Not in this universe, anyhow.
