fuck brokentail, fuck starclan for letting this happen KNOWING what’s to come, and fuck shadowclan for being okay with brokentail’s very awful decisions making kits into apprentices. brokentail is truly one of the most evil cats in this series. it’s clear he’s the reason for shadowclan being so unbearable in the later arcs. kind of ready to be done with this book man

been in a bad reading slump so haven’t been reading as much but my god… i really do not like macleod in this book 😭 i mean obvs i know things get better bc this is a prequel but man… he was not a great husband and father

excited to start the next book in this installment but off the bat i am a little bothered by the change in quality of this book. The pages are whiter (i liked the warmth of the last book), they feel a bit thinner and the margins have changed (before they were off center and pushed to the edge of the book, now it’s centered, but i found the off center nature made it easier to read). but just a minor complaint

this book is a dumpster fire. entertaining though. i keep asking myself why i am still reading it and yet here i am lol

so far a rinse and repeat of every romantasy book i’ve read up to this point. typical brooding, toxic, possessive male with wings and dark features and a small, hopeless girl who everyone hates but is secretly super powerful. more trials in a palace. i’ll say, her magic is one i haven’t seen before. the writing is a bit off and makes me cringe at times. at least the girl is 100+ years old and not 17 lol
