god i am reaaaaally struggling with this book.

i’m ngl, this book is a bit cliche, but i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t enjoying it lolol.

oh this is GOOD. strong start to a new arc. i freakin love Dovepaw

i know i said i wanted to take a break but i missed the world too much 😭 plus i need another audio book to listen to for my commutes lol.

absolutely loving this book. so far a 5-star read

unfortunately my hold ended before i was able to finish the book so going to put it to the side and either get a physical copy to finish or go back on the waitlist.

dragged a bit again after the halfway point/my last update and the changing POV’s in the middle of the chapter is a little disorienting. but at the same time kind of interesting bc now we get the idea that the Elk must be the narrator. there was so much build up but i feel that the end result this time around wasn’t nearly as good as the first.

alright uh.... this book just went from 0 to 100 real quick LOL. the build up kind of made it worth it.

on that note i’m actually done with EVERY clans shit. even thunderclan. everyone is just always doing dumb shit and getting into trouble and getting angry with each other… i really miss when the clans were journeying together and everyone ignored borders and clans for a while. why did that have to go away??? it’s like none of it ever happened, what was even the point? i’m so done w the plot holes man

man i absolutely have to take a break from this series after this arc. it’s starting to really pmo. i’m so done with shadowclans shit like… how tf are you going to tell firestar to “get his clan under control” when AN OUTSIDER TOOK OVER YOUR CLAN AND CONVINCED YOU TO IGNORE THE WARRIOR CODE AND STARCLAN???? it’s like the authors just forgot what they’ve written… stressing me out so much 😭

after waiting months its finally available to loan! now time to grind it out before my loan is up lol

OH but i am heavily digging hollyleaf's mental decline. i don't even remember what's going on with lionblaze which is disappointing considering his role in the last book was very interesting.

also i got mixed up with jayfeather's story from the last book. he has been lacking in this one. but he's a pivotal part of solving the mystery.

not a super great final book tbh, it's mostly just been clans arguing, the trio hunting down and constantly going back and forth with Sol (why the hell are we being so hospitable towards a potential murderer????), and hollyleaf caring too much about the warrior code. but a couple secrets have just been revealed which has been cool.

once again, jayfeather's storyline is the only interesting one out of the three lol.

god i am struggling with this book. it's for my book club, which i am the host for, so i feel compelled to read it through. but i'm honestly not enjoying it so far. it seems like it's going to pick up soon tho...hopefully

to follow my last note: not even just this book, but the series as a whole. it’s like they forget what they’ve written. it is really so infuriating sometimes

onestar: how dare you assume we would kill one of your own! we would never break the Warrior code like that!

this book makes me want to slam my head against a wall sometimes. the erin hunters ruined onestar and i will never forgive them for it.

things are finally getting interesting. i love that i started this arc hating jaw paw but now he’s easily become one of my favorite characters in the series. lionblaze has been fun too. hollyleaf…. eh

just finished part 1 and absolutely loving this book. this series just gets better and better (and also is making me dislike Gale more and more lmfao)

man i was excited for this book but im STRUGGLING. the entire book has just been cats arguing over sol, thunderclan dealing with rampant sickness and injuries, the shit with black star getting resolved so quickly it’s like… what was even the point… idk, i’m just ready for something actually exciting to happen @_@

ughhhhhhh i’m so bored with this book man. this arc has been fun but im ready to be done and take a break from this series lol im burnt out

i have been tearing through this book lol. did not expect to like it as much as i have. most definitely going to read more by this author. the spooky parts in the book genuinely had me freaked out, although there’s only been a couple scenes, but still. i hear she writer more horror-centered books so i’ll probs look out for those).

man…. i reallyyyyyyyy do not like shadowclan. i do think the whole thing with Sol is cool tho, and hopefully will lead to a SC redemption but… why is every cat in that clan so insufferable?!? and why are they yapping on about “stealing prey” when they aren’t following the code/way of the clans anymore??? getting on TC for being disloyal… the hypocrisy is driving me nuts lol

ok i know i just made an update but… you’re telling me yrene got told who celaena was off screen?!?! dude… i was so excited to see her find it out herself. what a bummer, and lazy at that.
