Took a stab on contemp romcom because I'd heard it was sharp and v relatable for academics, but the "take romance seriously" lectures are currently set at such a basic, pandering level it's making me think our female lead isn't all that great a scholar after all, but has in fact just encountered Bourdieu for the first time.

The worst part is, I agree with this treatise on not turning into the fictional character morality police and shrinking away from all story conflict, I just hate how didactically it's being spelled out here.

**Yes the serotonin in my brain required I dive into this series at book 5 so I could go straight to the romance so if Waffles is a recurring character my apologies and also bravo
