Reading during my flights for business travel. The sea monster element is rather delightful

I can't finish this. The racism is more unsettling than the horror stories themselves. Thankfully, the world has spun these stories into the gold they can be, removing the racial slurs and side bars.

I am so tired of this genre. What seems like an interesting world is tainted by a vomit-inducing, teen-infatuation triangle that is shoe horned in. So disappointing. If I read the next one it is because I want to discover more of the world.

I just can't anymore. The writing...oh gravy, the writing. So bad >__<

I've lived in the United States my entire life, thus, my shock in naming one of your slave-race characters Spook--very poor form. It doesn't matter that your former-slave protagonist is tall and blonde--if the author describes the slaves as dark and then throws in racially pejorative name, I'm going to envision my history classes. It was upsetting. I want to continue the series, but this lack of insight is brutal.

So many plot holes and contradictions in the author's own time travel rules. So much preaching and fake altruism. So much teenage love-triangle. There is a better story in Madoka Magica. Watch that anime and you will have this story but with substance.

"Consider the Stars"-Opens beautifully, a grin; immediately goes downhill to a furrowed brow. This one is a total miss for me. I have my celebrities, sure, but I suppose not with this kind of obsession.

"Full House"- my devious side enjoys this tale as poetic justice, but my compassionate side is worried for these boys. I didn't laugh.

"The Ship Shape"- Sometimes the stories are so bittersweet, I'm not sure if I'm crying or laughing hard enough to cause tears.

"Let It Snow"- rhetorical question, when was David born? Free Range children are certainly extinct now.

"Us and Them"- Great ending, as usual--poetic. I think I would be mad if someone came by after Halloween...

It is frustrating how little time I have for the printed word (thank goodness for audio books). This series is so fun, but that is not being reflected in my reading speed!

I really can't get into all the modern name-dropping and land marking of California. Did one of the characters really just say he learned all he needed to know about guns from GTA as he flew over the Melrose Gate?

Delightful. Listening to Gaiman read his own works is always a treat, but I imagine I would have loved this book, perhaps, even more with my inner-narration.
